Latin America faces year of change

Click on the map to find out more

Twelve presidential elections are due to take place in Latin America between November 2005 and the end of 2006. They include seven of the region's eight most populous countries: Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Chile and Ecuador.

The key issue is whether the recent left-wing trend in the region will continue, and if so, what will be the likely nature of any new left-leaning government.

Today's Latin America is a very different region from that of 20-30 years ago. Electoral politics are reasonably consolidated in most countries, and there are no military governments.

Javi heading to India! Proud me :) !

Hello everyone,

Back to the travelling mood.

Ok, after almost two years of coming back from India, I am ready to start again.
As many of you know, I have been working for Global Entrepreneurs in the colombian office during the last year. Our company is based on Norway (HQ) with regional offices in India, Kenya and Colombia, which works in International business development ( www.global-entrepreneurs.com ), If you want to know more, you can see our business units www.globalnuts.co.ke or www.outsmart.no, they are two of them.

I am telling you about our company because I am going back to India to work with Global Entrepreneurs in our office in India, where I am going to be working in international business (supply chain). It is an internal Exchange program where yearly we exchance people among our offices. (btw, we are looking for a Colombian Industrial Engineer to go to Kenya for a year too).
I have to be honest that I did not have in mind coming back to India so soon, and less going again for long time. But opportunities show up in front of our eyes and we have to decide if we are going to take it or not. In this opportunity I decide to take the chance and going back to India.

I am moving on the first week of Feb to Norway, where I am going to be for a month, where e are going to assist to a trainning program, then, in march, I am moving on to India. the city this time is going to be Chennai, a bit warmer than Pune, the city where I did my AIESEC exchange.
To be in touch, Last time I kept on sending e-mails about my experiences there, this time evolution has come and I have a weblog where all of you can follow up what is happening with me in India = http://jave.nomadlife.org/

Ok, one more year to come, one more cycle of life starts. please feel free to visit me in India at any time.

OK, guys, keep in touch.
Hugs.

Javier V.

Ps: I hope Visas and so on works Ok, then, if not, I am going to be here ;)

Dhanur going to Colombia

Dhanur (third one, black shirt), IC 2005 AI - OC meeting

Small world!

I think one of the indians that I have had more intense contact with at certain moment of time, is now going to Colombia! Dhanur, another of the Chennai gang (like Sumesh, Parthiv, Naaz), was Project Manager of IDC 2003 (the first time I got to India and mome when I was driving him crazy with so many favors) and recently OCP of IC 2005, also in India - doing a fantastic job. Seriously, this guy is one of the funniest indians I have ever know and if he turns as colombian as Naaz did, ooooh my God! Really good news ...
