AXLDS is over - First day in Rio

wow! feels so strange to post something after so much time!
AXLDS 2005 is over. We (Matt Pech, Lele and me) are right now in Rio de Janeiro - we are at Lele´s house.

Today is sunday ... is such a nice and special environment.It´s the end of eastern by the way!

Is my first time in Rio and I gue I am in right house ... or better said, apartment. Lele´s apartment (7th floor) has such great balconies, wow! from the two of them you can see the CHRIST!!! and looking to the other direction you just see the lake (a pretty big lake that is in Rio) ... Wow, I do not know for you, but for me Rio is or was one of this TOP cities that I just could not die witout experiencing. It feels magical.

Will be a promising week, but specially since we will have officially like 3 days vacations.
No work, no plenaries, no flipcharts, no externals ... just Rio and me, or better said us.

We made yesterday night our "sight-seeing plans", they look very promising!
Looking forward to share all this with you.

However, when you have such nice experiences in cities you always dreamt to be, you just can not help missing some people you would like to have there with you, to live it with you. I miss you. You all know wo you are.

Now ... let´s enjoy Rio, on your behalf!

Awsome.
I was there for 3 days, for my graduation.
Have been one of the best days of my life. It is too good to be in love.

SOME PICTURES OF THE DIRECTOR RESULTS ANNOUCEMENTS

Thanks to Kevin, MCP e from Belgium, I managed to get some pics from the annoucement moment of the AI Directors 2005 2006! BTW, guys if you were at IPM and have any pic where I am (well also any other pic!) , share them with me! with all! Sometimes I really feel like buying a camera ... but ok ok, let´s face it, I am still pretty poor ...

Things I will never forget:

a. It all happened after Global Legislation, which means it took place aprox. at 2 am if I am not wrong! Brodie really suprised us ... since the 6th director position was approved this same night at legislation, Brodie just did not wait till the next day to give the results ...

b. Many of us were not really fancy dressed (well, how important is this in the end?) , we did not expect this to happen this night, some of the candidates where even sleeping! Only Sveta went fast to her room to change (you can see she is the one better dressed in the snaps!)

c. I was the VERY LAST director announced! Yes, can you imagine how you feel after being the first 5 directors announced and being only one spot free! Truly painful ... but as soon as the water comes over you, all this fear turns into a super joy!

d. and yes ... Femi (current AI Director with red T-shirt) was so far away from me, that I think it was a bit difficult for him to drop the water on me! Water came a couple of minutes delayed!

As soon as I manage to get more snaps, will be sharing them as well!

And was so funny to read it in these days - when I am 5 days away to get my degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing (uuuuhhhh) ... cool to see such simple, different but convincing perspectives about brands, products, capital, and in general the way your could perceive business ... love the graphics also!


The market for something to believe in is INFINITE

Coming back to my degree I was also informed some days ago that I will be awarded with the GLODEN MEDAL (medalla de oro) and the UNIVERSITY MERIT MEDAL (medalla al merito universitario) - it´s so funny. I mean, of course I am happy, extremely happy and even if I admit that the first semesters of my carreer I only dreamed on winning this medals at the end of the university, in the last semesters I completely forgot about this, even did not care (I swear, I know some of you do not believe me!). Of course I always cared and will care of doing stuff in an outstanding way, but some time ago I stoped doing it only for the seek of winning. Even if I enjoy winning.

Is such an amazing feeling, specially since I got to know it after the AI elections ... I was like: "God, don´t scare me, so many beautiful things at a time!?" - wow!

So I will attend to two ceremonies. One of friday 11, at 4 pm to get the awards - kind of private, special ceremony. And the normal one (graduation) at 4pm as well, but on saturday 12. I am happy to go to Colombia at least for 3 days (from 10 till 13.03), and share the beginning of a new cycle with the ones I love the most, and this time anyone will be missing, not even Javier! God I am counting the hours!

I feel happy!

A new generation for AIESEC UNINORTE

Am happy to be back after IPM!
Now, again with Internet, a cup of chocolate milk (a cheap one, do not think I am so fancy!) and a clear task list of TO DO´s! What else can I expect?

Ok, have tones of stuff to write about but I will start talking about the recent recruitment of new members in AIESEC UNINORTE. For thos who do not know, AIESEC UNINORTE is my HOME LC in Colombia, located of course in the UNIVERSIDAD DEL NORTE in the beautiful Barranquilla. Some of you also know (specially the ones that went to IPM and heard my speech!) that my sister Lucia joined AIESEC there a couple of days ago - actually the day I was giving my speech, she was attending at her Induction Seminar ... She does not know, but that day of my speech, she was the most famous newie in the globe :) - was so funny, all the conference people came to me asking if I already talke to her, how she liked AIESEC and even sending greetings! I loved my speech - but let´s talk about this later!

Coming back to Lucia, she is happy. She is extremely motivated. I am also happy to hear that, making it to AI and experiencing that AIESEC would not fit to my sister (or better said my sister would not fit to AIESEC) would be in a way sad ... but believe it or not I am doing my best to not to influence her AIESEC XP and let her design it as a piece of art! her way :)

The coolest but at the same time shocking moments happened yesteday, when I saw the following mails. Well in a way they wete shocking for me, since I FELT OLD! jejeje or maybe nostalgic, god I am not 18 anymore as I was when I joined AIESEC! The first one a FORUM NOTIFICATION written my Lucia! It was kind of Intro email for all the LC, all newies were doing it. God! she is an AIESEC.Net user, sniff!sniff! (and yes! I am still subscribed to the forums of my home LC!)

And the second (well, this I was expecting!) was a personal email from her, asking me for financial support and well for giving the final approval for her to go to the NATIONAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR of AIESEC Colombia, taking place quite soon (actually during AXLDS). That´s the other part, my mom completely leaves all her AIESEC related permissions up to me ... ! This should chance come on! I know I walked already a long path, but that´s the wonderful thing of our AIESEC XP, you can completely adapt it to what you are and to what you wanna be! God, I see my self doing an AIESEC XP mini-trainning to my family quite soon!

WHEN WOULD YOU IMAGINE THIS? Jejeje if all this guys would travel to the past (let´s say from 2000 to 2002) and see the kind of turbulent relations that their respective sisters had (ufff! I really do not want to remember), would spend hours not believing it. But LIFE AND AIESEC are great, and see, now they come together to shape a new generation. Maybe that´s that best prove of the power of AIESEC. I am so eager to see how they grow. I am so eager to see how a new generation shapes the future of AIESEC UNINORTE.
