"MY INDIA"

“Whatever you are doing, put your whole mind on it. If you are shooting, your mind should be only on the target. Then you will never miss. If you are learning your lessons, think only of the lesson. In India boys and girls are taught to do this.”

Yes, I am already wearing Indian clothes! I started this week, I do not have enough to wear them every day, but the garderobe is slowly increasing. You can't recognize me or what? This is a picture right at the main entrance of my office.

There are so many things I could tell of my first 12 days in India, that please do not have the expectation of reading everything in this post, this is definitively a country where every experience deserves its own posting. So, let's say this is just a post ot inform you I arrived safe and I find myself extremely happy, way much more than expected! Life is definitively good.

Here some highlights!

1. Work-life balance is back - and love closer!

Well, love is right here, that's the reason! Javi and myself are having an amazing time and finally I got long term rescued from the hands of work and start enjoying ourselves. You won't believe me (specially my AI 05 06 team members!) but I am starting to do outside sports like trekking for instance. Life is good and fun, I'm happy.

Some fotos of our last treking (it was rainning non-stop all the day!), also cool people as Matt Neagle joined us ...

2. Oriana, the trainee

I work monday to friday from 10.00 to 18.30 and alternate saturdays from 10.00 to 14.00. La Nova Chem, the company I work for, is a bulk pharmaceuticals producer and exporter. My boss has been so far a real mentor, I have learned in the past two weeks as hell about marketing and about the global pharma industry, it's amazingly dynamic and fast growing. Our bottomline as trainees (me and another girl from Ecuador) is to strategize the further entrance of the company in the Latin market. So we are totally into understanding of the behaviour of current clients and research of new prospects, along with analysis of the way they do sells. I owe another post to talk much more about this!

Fun about work is that everyday I bring my home cooked food, or better said my dabba (sorry if it is not written like this!) we eat at the office, which is a "veg" office, which means NO MEAT is allowed. And NO, I am not dying without meat, on the other hand, I am in serious risk of gaining some KGs!

3. Mumbai

BIG, CRAZY, FAST, HECTIC. This city is a monster, it does not stop. No for bombs, no for monsoon, no for floads. Again, each event that has happened to me in this city so far, deserves its own posting. However let's pick some funny facts ...
  • A guy grabbed my ass on the street already, that is one of the reasons why I am slowly moving to the "indian clothes" style, the less you show, the better
  • You need to basically take a shower every night, specially in this season, you just can't avoid putting your feet in dirty water on the street ... your finger nails start very fast getting a black color if not washed every day, hehehehe
  • Food is awesome, you can for sure survive without meet
  • Rural areas outside Mumbai can be very nice, very green specially in the rain season, you also like to go out of Mumbai to breathe fresh air
  • Every car horns, just for fum, just like that, now imagine how it sounds in a 20 million inhabitants city
  • A decent amount of rats! in some parts, for example in a sort of market outside my office
  • I take the Mumbai train every day, which is freakin' crowded, as hell, but still the fastest option. Good thing is that you have ladies compartments (only women can get in) so it makes it more easier. In total is takes me 1 hour to reach the office from home, taking a otto, then the train and finally a bus

That is all for today guys, more news next weekend!
So far, India is rocking and I am learning a lot!
